From Light To Light

The Light
There is a light that embraces all living things
And carries the whole universe in its gentle wings
This light is intelligent and warm
And there are countless beings that swarm
Within its peaceful and welcoming mien
But it cannot be with the body’s eyes seen
For the oneness of this light cannot be viewed
While separate bodies have oneness eschewed
There is nothing alien inside this light, nor outside
And there is nothing that can within the light hide
For the light has no shadow nor shade
And, in it, no differences can invade
For the light knows everything that does exist
And no being can the light forever resist
For everything that was created is light eternal
And each light knows all of its brothers fraternal
The light has a sense of humor sublime
And nothing can dim it, not even time
For this is not a joy that mocks anyone
It is a joy that embraces everyone
And lifts all beings to higher levels of light
For there are no limits to these levels in height

The Darkness
Can you feel the guilt and fear inside?
Can you feel that something good has died?
Everywhere you look, you see an enemy
Danger is all around, and you must fight or flee
No one cares about your safety or health
Everyone is trying to stab your back with stealth
Your friends and family have their private ends
Each one has money that he hoards and defends
They think they would be better off
If they could knock everyone else off
People share only to get something back
And if they don’t get it, they quickly attack
Selfishness is the norm, and altruism is a joke
People are just competing so that they don’t go broke
People are afraid to leave this nightmare
To leave this world, they hardly ever dare
But what they don’t realize
Is that no one ever dies
If they so choose, they can be free
And without violence leave their body
But if they have problems in their mind
They might not leave them all behind
Before they can hear the call of the light
They must leave the guilt and fear of the night

The Return To The Light
How can one who fears the light
Find in it some real delight?
He must learn that his reality
Is light without partiality
He must learn that only loving thoughts will last
And all else will fade into the distant past
He must into his mind invite
Only the all-encompassing light
While guilt has some attraction
Fear will have some traction
But when he sees that guiltlessness
Joins all beings, he will make progress
Forgiveness will rest with a blessing
On all those that guilt was oppressing
And a thought reversal will be produced
And a new way of seeing will be introduced
A type of seeing that does not attack the other
A type of seeing that lets the mind recover
Until all the mind sees in the world is light
And this mind never has to return to night
And, in the light, his joy will keep burning
As his brothers, also, keep returning
