We Are God’s Perfect Creation

This poem says that our reality is holiness and love, but our thoughts of sin have obscured this fact.

God creates by extending his divinity–
His love, joy, and peace–into infinity
In reality, we are God’s perfect creation
The sinless effect of his causation

But the self that we have made
Has been with sin overlaid
And, being afraid to look within,
We have become afraid of sin

This fear has hidden love’s reality
And distorted our normal mentality
Everything is upside down now
And our fear does not love allow

If we could only realize that our sin
Does not destroy the holiness within
We would not fear to humble our pride
And examine what lies deep inside

For our pride only covers what is true
And truth cannot be changed by what we do
Arrogance is simply a false face
That serves to cover our disgrace

But when we look within, we will find
That fear has warped our natural mind
But by forgiving all mistakes in view
We will uncover what is really true

Beneath the layer of ugliness and fear
We will find a salvation of good cheer
For forgiveness purifies our perception
And offers holiness a new reception

Forgiveness is the final solution
Because it is the way all illusion
Is overlooked, truth itself is admitted,
And knowledge through creation is transmitted

When all our errors have been undone
We will return to the knowledge of one
This knowledge cannot be known in part
For it must extend to every heart

Privacy is a way to protect our sin
And never to expose the source within
On islands of separate bodies and brains
We think that each mind on its island reigns

But privacy is a needless illusion
The attempt to protect sin with seclusion
But when the mind is deeply inspected
All errors of thought will be rejected

And when forgiveness has been made complete
Thoughts will not be seen as private or discrete
For all of our minds will join with pure delight
The one source of all our holiness and light

All “private” thoughts in the darkness rotten
And all baseless fears will be forgotten
We will awaken to our true reality
We are love that knows no partiality

Our kingdom will not be a body of dust
Whose strength we cannot depend on or trust
Our true kingdom, though not now comprehended
Is one in which love is forever extended

God creates by extending his divinity–
His love, joy, and peace–into infinity
In reality, we are God’s perfect creation
The sinless effect of his causation
