God Wants Only Complete Happiness For Me

This poem reveals that love and happiness are experienced together, and they are God’s will for us.

God wants only complete happiness for me
And love is the happiness that sets me free

This world was made to keep us apart
To deny God’s will and to shatter his heart
The world is thus a symbol of our fear
That God would reach us and love come near

God wants only complete happiness for me
And love is the happiness that sets me free

Our bodies seem to keep us safe from love
Although there is no danger, below or above
Our belief in sin is the cause of our terror
Although sin is not real and only an error

God wants only complete happiness for me
And love is the happiness that sets me free

The mistake we make is to believe God is mad
And angry at us when we judge ourselves “bad”
But God is not disturbed by our illusions of sin
God waits for us to awaken and choose the win-win

God wants only complete happiness for me
And love is the happiness that sets me free

Our illusions of sin, guilt, fear, and shame
Turn peace into war and make love a game
How can we live with the belief in sin
When it removes all our peace from within?

God wants only complete happiness for me
And love is the happiness that sets me free

As long as sin is seen as real
Guilt is what we will surely feel
We cannot get rid of the guilt we feel inside
By attacking others and then trying to hide

God wants only complete happiness for me
And love is the happiness that sets me free

The only way to find salvation
Is to look on all of creation
With the eyes of forgiveness
And see only innocence

God wants only complete happiness for me
And love is the happiness that sets me free

Until we see ourselves as God’s holy child
The world will know conflict and our thoughts will be wild
But when our work of forgiveness is wholly complete
Our Self we will know, and Love we will meet

God wants only complete happiness for me
And love is the happiness that sets me free
